Using Social Media to Elicit Sales III

The last post was issue two in a series of ten about using social media and I spoke about content i.e. what to write about. Now we need to talk about a few writing tips for online content.

The reason we write online content is to convey succinct messages to our niche markets either to sell, or to inform or to entertain. Unfortunately not everyone finds our messages so it’s up to us as writers to spread the word as far as we can.

One of the fastest ways to spread your words is through article seeding and syndication. What I mean by this is to distribute an article or a series of articles that you have written on a particular niche topic throughout the web using the keywords to create backlinks to your site or blog or other points of reference.

Backlinks are important when driving your blog or site to gain rankings.

You can create them online by highlighting your chosen keywords in your article and inserting a link by clicking on above the type area (wordpress). Most blogging systems have this feature. Eg: in this piece of body copy I have one highlighted word which, when a reader clicks on that word, will take the reader through to my website or a related article on my blog.

Once you have finished creating your article or post then open an account at www.ezinearticles.com and www.goarticles.com and submit your article according to their guidelines and create your profile ensuring that you have a good paragraph on yourself and your work to insert in the author box at the end of the article submission.

What search engines love about articles is those written as a series. If you create a series of about eight to ten articles on one topic you will be seen as an ‘expert’ in that niche and gain rankings with Google and other search engines that perhaps you wouldn’t have done with a single article. Think about your niche topic and create a lead article about it using at least four sub titles for body copy.

Then take each sub title of the body copy and create an article just about that on its own and continue until you have eight to ten articles. Remember to highlight your keywords and put links in that will draw the reader from one article to another so that when they are out there in cyberspace and you lose control of where they land, you know that your reader will always be directed back to your website or blog.

When you submit an article on an article syndication site it is best to submit all under one topic. You also have to be aware that other publishers will pick up your article and use it. This is good. It drags your links along with it and creates backlinks to your site or blog which you need to gain traffic and rankings.
This is why article campaigns (as a series is called when syndicated) are so attractive to content writers wanting to get their name out there in cyberspace!

The next step you need to take with your article or series of articles is to ‘tweet’ about it and let everyone of your followers see it and ‘retweet’ it. In that way your article is carried even further. You can link your www.ezinearticles.com and www.goarticles.com to twitter from your account page and ensure that each article you write is tweeted automatically. You can also do this with your blog posts so that they too are carried into Twitter for all to see and talk about.

In this way you are creating greater visibility for your message and driving more and more people back to your blog or website to read your opinions and allow them to dig deeper into your offering or service.
In the next article I’ll explain more about this and about sharing and syndicating to some of the hundreds of social media applications that exist online. Once you’re automated, it’s easier!
