Writing blog posts for use in online public relations


In previous articles I’ve written about how to write relevant content and also about increasing the use of your blog posts and articles online.

Writing posts for online public relations is also part of this process and one that shouldn’t be ignored. Public Relations is part of every marketing persons remit and as the blog writer for your business you are responsible for the distribution of news to your market.

Just like the online article publishers there are online press release publishers who will carry your content free of charge in the hope that it is picked up by online publishers who will find it relevant.

These portals for article and press release distribution don’t charge you to submit your story but you need to read and adhere to their guidelines to be a successful author for them.

Once you have mastered the formats for the various sites you’ll find that your articles and press releases are used widely and you’ll see from your stats on each site just how many times your article or press release has actually been viewed and re-published.

Every business, no matter how small has events and news it can report in a press release. A press release differs from an article in that it is imparting news on a specific event or happening and not just general information. A press release submission can also carry photography and links as well as pricing in some cases which can assist you with a product launch.
